Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Developmental Support Worker to join our team. As a Developmental Support Worker, you will provide assistance and support to individuals with diverse needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others in the long term.
Hours Required to fill: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 4 pm to 9 pm.
Subject to changes based on client's needs
Responsibilities:
-Support Clients' during and after experiencing seizures, lifting, positioning safely and assistance with mobility.
- Provide personal care and support to individuals, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Support individuals in daily activities, such as mobility and transportation
- Create a safe and supportive environment for individuals
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure individual needs are met
- Maintain accurate records of care provided
Experience:
- Experience with Seizure Disorders preferred
- Previous experience in caregiving or support work is preferred
- Knowledge of special education principles and techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations
- Empathy and patience when working with individuals with diverse needs
